Professional background/experience

• Secretary, Department of Primary Industries in August 2011.
• Began his public service career in the Department of Education in 1980. In 1997 moved to Department of Treasury and Finance.
• In 2003 returned to the then Department of Education and Training to take up the position of Deputy Secretary, Office for Resources and Infrastructure. In 2008, became the Department’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).
  February 2009, joined the Victorian Bushfire Reconstruction and Recovery Authority as Acting CEO.
  Returned to the Department as Deputy Secretary, ORI in July 2009.
