Exclusive rights given to copyright owners
The exclusive rights given to copyright owners by the Copyright Act 1968 in literary, dramatic and musical works are:

reproduce the work in material form - copy by hand, photocopy, audio or video taping, photograph, download or print from a computer, including scanning in digital format.

publish the work - reproductions of the work or edition have been supplied (by sale or otherwise) to the public or when the work has been communicated to the public.

communicate the work to the public - making the work available on a website, electronic transmission such as e-mail and attachments, broadcasting, streaming etc.

perform the work in public

make an adaptation of the work:

Literary work: a translation, a dramatised version, and a picture (e.g. cartoon) version. An adaptation of a computer program includes another version of the computer program.

Dramatic work includes a translation, a novelised version, and a picture (e.g. cartoon) version.

Musical work: rearrangement or transcription of the work.

do any of these acts in relation to an adaptation of the work.
