Guidelines and procedures

Copy of communicate copyright material

There is no infringement if:

  • the copyright is owned by the University
  • the material has been supplied to the University with a licence to copy and/or communicate
  • permission is obtained from the copyright holder
  • the copying and/or communication is covered by any of the exceptions in the Copyright Act
  • the copying and/or communication is covered by the 'statutory licences' for copying and communicating audio-visual (Part VA of the Copyright Act 1968) or print and graphic (Part VB of the Copyright Act 1968) material in universities
