Chinese language programs

The Confucius Institute at La Trobe University offers a range of Chinese Mandarin language courses catering to the beginner or more advanced learner.

Through our structured program of Chinese language courses, students will progressively learn correct pronunciation with the assistance of Pinyin Romanisation and tones, learn sentence structures and their grammatical features, and develop a familiarity with simplified Chinese characters. While all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be covered, an emphasis is placed on the development of conversational skills.

Language learning will be complemented with an exploration of culture.
