Our emphasis on industry-based experience means students are ready to take up job opportunities as soon as they graduate. Our sought-after graduates have been employed by companies such as Deloitte, Telstra and the Bureau of Meteorology, along with a range of overseas employers.
Industry certification
CISCO
The Department offers a CISCO certification training program as part of our degrees. The training offers an industry-standard, internationally recognised qualification in networking.
Students with satisfactory marks in the relevant subjects are able to apply for the program. They then take a specified series of subjects qualifying them to sit CISCO's external examination. Contact Prakash Veeraraghavan (p.veera@latrobe.edu.au) for more information.
Microsoft
All second year students studying with the Department have the opportunity to study current industrial best practices in software development using tools and platforms provided by Microsoft.
Across three modules, students are introduced to a number of programming and development tools and techniques including C# and Sharepoint 2010.
Upon successful completion of this subject students will have the required knowledge and skills to sit the Microsoft certification exam. Read detailed subject information.
