AMQuIP Bulletins 2006-07

These evidence and resource bulletins (PDF format) give summaries of high-quality evidence related to consumer involvement in health care. They also provide information about the availability of relevant resources. The bulletins were funded by the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Quality Improvement Program (AMQuIP), from the Chronic Disease and Palliative Care Branch of the Department of Health and Ageing.

  • Introductory bulletin: Introducing the work of the Cochrane Consumers & Communication Review Group, this bulletin outlines the activities undertaken in conjunction with participating AMQuIP projects

Resource Bulletins

  • Resource bulletin 1: outlines the availability of summaries of high-quality evidence on arthritis treatments and the launch of the Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group Satellite in Australia.
  • Resource bulletin 2: describes the work of the Cochrane Consumers and Communciation Review Group, in developing a conceptual framework to help to organise interventions that affect people’s interactions with health care, and relevant outcomes.
  • Resource bulletin 3: outlines some of the resources available to help to support consumers during their experiences of illness and care, and to involve consumers in research within the Cochrane Collaboration.
  • Resource bulletin 4: outlines the launch of the ‘Resource Bank for Communication and Involvement in Health.’
  • Resource bulletin 5: outlines a selection of the activities carried out in conjunction with various AMQuIP projects over the first half of 2006, and the outcomes of these activities.
  • Resource bulletin 6: outlines the availability of summaries of high-quality evidence on arthritis treatments available on the Arthritis Victoria website, and the availability of new resources for searching on the Cochrane Consumers and Communication Review Group website.
  • Resource bulletin 7: discusses the health literacy workshop hosted by the Cochrane Consumers and Communication Review Group (February 2007); decision aids; othe resources for health literacy.
  • Resource bulletin 8: contains information about resources of general interest to AMQuIP projects about:
    - Information design and content: what patients value and find useful,
    - Building a model of the way consumers actively seek advice online.
  • Resource bulletin 9: contains information of general relevance to AMQuIP projecs including:
    - Ways of encouraging patient-centred communication across culture, language and health literacy levels (a US report);
    - A defining document for patient-centred principles in healthcare (a Declaration from International Alliance of Patient Organisations, IAPO).
