New City Campus to be established on La Trobe Street, MelbourneIn a move that will see La Trobe University establish a major presence in Melbourne's CBD, a new City Campus is being created within the walls of the historic Argus Building. Conveniently located on the corner of Elizabeth and La Trobe Streets, the campus expresses a new vision for the University and is due for completion in 2010. A wide choice of cafes, restaurants and major retail centres are nearby, including the Melbourne Central shopping centre. The site is directly serviced by public transport (train, tram and bus). Bookshops, computer stores, internet cafes and the State Library of Victoria are close by. The existing City Campus is located on Franklin Street and the University will continue to have a presence at this location for the foreseeable future.
