Following are 'News and Events' in Cinema Studies for 2008.
- Gabrielle Murray will be giving a paper entitled 'Post 9/11 and Screen Violence' at the 7th Global Conference - Violence, and the Contexts of Hostility of Budapest, Hungary, 5th-7th May, 2008.
- Gabriel Murray has received a LTU Research Grant (ERC) called 'Images of Torture, Images of Terror: Post 9/11 and the Escalation of Screen Violence' awarded for 2008.
- Anna Dzenis is the editor of 'Screening the Past' an on-line journal. To access issues of Screening the Past please follow the link below.

- The first 2008 Postgraduate Seminar will be held on 29th May, 2008, 1pm-6pm, room t.b.a. All postgraduate students and staff are expected to attend.
