China Health ProgramDoctoral ProgramsThe China Health Program also offers a doctoral research program (both a PhD and a professional doctorates - Doctor of Public Health). Managers, policy officials, teachers and researchers may apply to enrol for doctoral study at La Trobe. Supervision is available in a range of fields including health policy, health economics, human resource management, quality management and health informatics. Doctor of PhilosophyProfessional DoctoratesThe Professional Doctorate provides a path for experienced practitioners in the health related professions and other graduates to further develop their expertise and increase their research in professional settings. The program is designed to be the equivalent of three years full time and consists of approximately 1/3 coursework and 2/3 thesis. The coursework component of the doctorates will assist students to develop their expertise over a broader area than is possible with a single thesis topic. The School's research areas include:

EligibilityThe normal requirement for admission as a candidate is at least an upper second class honours degree or a Masters degree. Either degree course must have included a substantial research dissertation as part of the requirements of the course. With at least 3 years professional experience within the field.
