Dr Pei, Likun

Pei Likun

Likun PEI, from Kunming Medical College, undertook her PhD study at La Trobe University from 1995 to 1998. Her PhD thesis is titled "Hospital management in a time of change: the need for management training (and policy reform) in three teaching hospitals in Yunnan. Dr Pei is currently a Professor at the China Study Centre of La Trobe University.
Dr Liu, Chaojie

George Liu

Chaojie (George) LIU, born in Xinjiang in 1965, was awarded Medical Degree (1982-1988) and Master Degree in Public Health (1988-1991) by the West China University of Medical Science. He was positioned as teaching assistant, lecturer, and associate professor in Social Medicine at West China University of Medical Sciences. He has extensive experiences in teaching and research in Social Medicine and Health Service Management, especially in the areas of urban community health care, gerontology, health insurance, rural primary health care, health economic evaluation, and medical outcome studies. From 2000 to 2003, he undertook his PhD study at La Trobe University. His PhD study focused on the performance and policy issues of urban community health care in China. Dr George Liu is currently a lecturer at La Trobe University.
Dr Gong, Zhiping

Zhiping Gong

Zhiping GONG, born in Sichuan in 1962, graduated in University of Electronic and Technology of China in 1983 with Bachelor of Sciences in Applied Mathematics, graduated in West China University of Medical Sciences in 1986 with Master degree of Health Statistics. He was positioned as teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor in the Department of Health Administration and Economics of Sichuan University. He had extensive research experiences into health equity, health insurance and financing, and tobacco levy. From 2000 to 2004, he undertook his PhD study at La Trobe University. The title of his PhD study is Developing DRG classification System for Acute Hospital Inpatient in China. Dr Gong is currently working in New Zealand.
Dr Yang, Hui

Yang Hui

Hui Yang, born in Beijing in 1961, graduated in Beijing Medical University in 1984. He was positioned as teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor and professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management of Peking University. He spent 17 years on teaching and research into the national health services, rural primary health care, rural cooperative medical scheme, urban community health services, health act, and private medical practice in China. From 2001 to 2004, he undertook his PhD study at La Trobe University. The title of his PhD study is the Strategies and Priorities of Health Information System Development in China. Dr Yang is currently a lecturer of La Trobe University.
Dr Zhao, Hongwen

Hongwen Zhao

Hongwen Zhao, born in Mongolia Interior in 1964, was awarded the Medical Degree (1981-1986) by Bao Tou Medical College, Master of Bio-statistics (1986-1989) by Tong Ji Medical University, Master of Public Health (1991-1992) by Johns Hopkins University. He was positioned as health project manger by Ministry of Health, China (1989-1991, 1992-1994, 1999-2001), health specialist by World Bank Beijing Office (1994-1999). As a project manager, he has extensive experiences in the subject of rural health, planing and policy, health workforce development, MCH/EPI, TB, STD/AIDS, health promotion. From 2001 to 2005, he undertook his doctoral study at La Trobe University. His interest is health finance and health insurance in a mixed economy. Recently he shifts his gear to research on health policy, regulatory regimes in a public private mixed market. Dr Zhao is currently working at the Ministry of Health of China.
