Sports and recreation
Students at Chisholm College have many opportunities to get involved in sports, both through the inter-college sporting competition that runs each year and through college social sporting tournaments.
College residents have easy access to:
- playing fields
- tennis courts
- basketball courts
- a fully equipped gym and a swimming pool.
Inter college sporting competition
The inter-college sporting competition involves the three Colleges (Chisholm, Glenn, Menzies) taking part in 14 different sports throughout the year. Some of the sports include:
- soccer
- cricket
- touch football
- badminton
- baseball
Recreation areas
The college has excellent recreational areas where you can play table tennis, pool and foosball. The college also has a couple of bikes that the residents can borrow. And, of course there is a BBQ area where residents often gather on a balmy summers night for an impromptu get together.
Sports and recreational activities are organised by dedicated members of our student leadership team. You'll get to know them during your first week in College.
Chisholm is renowned for its international outlook and it is not uncommon for us to enjoy finding out about new sports from our residents. After joining Chisholm you may find you develop a taste for a variety of sports that you didn't previously know existed.
Sports gala night
The Sports gala night is held at the end of each sporting semester to award individual and team trophies to the best and fairest players and teams in the semester and to recognise the contribution of the dedicated supporters. Interspersed with residents' talent acts, it is one of the highlights of the social calendar.
You will find many opportunities during the year to join a team or sporting group or just join our large group of supporters and cheer squad.
