Alice in Wonderland
Weaknesses:
One of
the things that let this version down is the fact that it does not go into much
detail of the story. Unlike the Disney movie, it does not tell the great
‘Walrus and the Carpenter’ poem. Another weakness we discovered was that the
illustrations Alice were too
perfect. She could be seen as a pretty little girl whose ‘perfect blue skirt
will never fly up to reveal too much of her petticoats’ (Cleaver, B. &
Erdman, B., 1993). This may make it hard for young female readers to relate to
the character, and therefore make it hard to connect with her.
