Alice in Wonderland

Strengths:

Despite being retold by Earle Hutchins, this version stays quite true to the text. It does not add any new information, either newly created or from Through The Looking Glass. It merely reduces some sections by summarizing the story a little. By not adding new ideas to the text or dramatically changing it in any other way, readers are still able to read the book and easily remember the original. It is almost as if this version is the original. Older readers will quite easily be able to make a connection with the old text and younger readers will be able to learn and appreciate it. This means the story is a little shorter, which could be better for younger readers as they will be better able to focus their attention for a shorter amount of time. Alice is also wearing almost the same outfit as in the original illustrations. The only difference being the colour of her hair.
