Children love nonsense, as do many lighthearted adults, 

but what is it that makes nonsense poems so appealing to children? 

Is it the recurring motifs of impossible absurdities? Or maybe the

richness of the mystery? Is there really a Jabberwocky?

Will our table and chairs really go out for a walk?

These and other questions may not be answered, but I will endeavor to try!
