Deianeira…

Deianeira was the daughter of Althaea and Oeneus the king of Calydon. Heracles rescued Deianeira from the river god Achelous and won her love. Heracles and Deianeira had a son called Hyllus. Deianeira was taken by Nessus, a centaur, when crossing the river. Heracles killed Nessus with a poisoned arrow. Prior to his death Nessus tricked Deianeira into believing that a potion made from his semen and blood would ensure Heracles undying love. However, this potion was poisonous and lead to Heracles death. Deianeira was grief stricken and committed suicide (Wikipedia 2006).
