The Bluebeard Figure
  A “Bluebeard” story is so called because of its “Bluebeard” character. The common characteristics of the “bluebeard” figure include them being a rich person who owns a grand house or castle, which is usually hidden away from society. Generally these characters are little known among the general public. The significant characteristic of these characters however, is their love of murdering young, beautiful women (many of these which are their wife or wives to be). These men often go out searching for a wife. While they are called “bluebeard” characters not all of these character actually have a bluebeard. This derived from Charles Perrault’s “Bluebeard”.
