Hello and welcome to my website on Japanese Folk Tales. I have created this website for my History of Children's Literature Assignment. I chose this topic because ever since l was an exchange student in Japan, l have enjoyed learning about the Japanese culture and history, and l have found that Japanese Folk Tales have had a impact on the Japanese culture as we know it today.
I have split this website into five different sections: Symbols, Creation Stories, Festivals, My Favorite Japanese Folk Tales and References. In the symbol page you can find information on the different commonly found symbols in Japanese Folk Tales. In the Creation Stories page you can find information on some of the different Japanese Folk Tales that explain how the Japanese people believe different things were created or came about. On the festivals page you can find information on some of the festivals that are still celebrated in Japan today as a result of these folk tales. On the My Favorite Stories page, you can find information on my two favorite Japanese folk tales, and on the References page you can find information on where l found all my information that l used to create this website.
