Rapunzel as a less known fairytale, I thought it was quite interesting to analyse. She was born of parents who could not concieve and was given up to pay penance for her father's mistake. She was brought up by the Witch and as soon as she was old enough to notice men, was locked up in a tower with no doors and only one window. The only way the Witch was able to get in was to call for Rapunzel to throw down her hair so that the Witch could climb up. A prince uses his brain to find a way to see Rapunzel and they fall in love. In the end they live happily ever after.
This is prime example of how women wait and men fight. Poor Rapunzel was locked in a tower with no options, there was no way out, there was nothing she could do. She would just wait there and sing to pass her time. Then along comes her prince who falls instantly in love with her looks and decides that he will have her as his wife. Rapunzel has no other offers and has no objections. It is only when the prince comes along that an option becomes clear, that she would need to fool the Witch in order to get away. The story continues and the plan fails. Rapunzel again waits and years later is 'found' by her prince. It is only after this time that she is able to be happy.
