From reading different versions of snow white they are all very similar in that they all carry the same themes through out. Once again it is the wicked step mother that causes all the trouble, she becomes very jealous of snow white's beauty and orders for her to be killed. Once the hunts man takes snow white out into the bush ready to end her life he realises that he just can't do it to her, and lets snow white run away further into the forest as he figures the wild animals will probably eat her any way. As the queen had requested that the huntsman return with snow white’s heart to prove that he did kill her he killed a wild boar and returned with its heart instead and the queen knew no different. Once snow white is out in the bush she finds a little cottage which belongs to the seven dwarfs they decide that snow white can live with them as long as she plays the domestic role and never opens the door for any one.

Of course when the queen returns to her magic mirror and asks "mirror mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all"... she expects the mirror to say that she is. She is shocked near to death when the mirror replies that snow white is still the fairest and the queen realises that she isn't dead at all, and comes up with over plans to try and destroy snow white.

Of course once again in the end it is the prince that saves by convincing the dwarfs to let him have Snow White’s body. He gets his servants to carry the body back to the castle, on the way one trips and the piece of poisonous apple that was lodged in snow white’s throat came out and not long after she opened her eyes. The happy ending then comes as the prince proposes and they live happily ever after.

Another thing I have found that a lot of these fairy tales have in common is that they like to celebrate special occasions by having huge feasts and wedding receptions etc.

Some themes include: selfishness, friendship, love, goodness and death.
