The beautiful, shy Odette who is the daughter of the town's Baker has a life which everyday follows the same pattern until she follows a Unicorn into the enchanted wood. This curiousity leads to Odette being turned into a swan by the evil magician, Rothbart.

The Fairy Queen who is also trapped in the enchanted wood lessens the spell so that Odette becomes human from sunset til dawn. Odette searches with her new friends a way to break the spell but it is only when Odette meets the handsom Prince Daniel that an answer is discovered.

Prince Daniel must declare his everlasting love to Odette infront of an audience in order for the spell to be broken. To do this Prince Daniel invites Odette to the Ball his mother is holding in order for him to find a bride so that he is able to free Odette and the other fateful creatures under the enchantments of Rothbart.

Alas, Rothbart over hears this plot and sends his daughter Odile disguised as Odette to the ball instead and the unaware Prince Daniel makes his vow of everlasting love to her instead.

As Odette is dying there is a great battle between Prince Daniel and Rothbart and just as Rothbart is aiming to kill Prince Daniel Odette courageously throws herself infront, however Rothbart wins the magical crystal that Odette was protecting. The magic of the crystal backfires as soon as it is placed in Rothbart's hands leading to Rothbart's downfall. A happy ending sees Odette, her prince and her enchanted friends of the forest to be free.
