Modifications & Strengths/Weaknesses

|
Modifications
- The only violence in Perrault’s ‘Puss in Boots’ was the slaying of the rabbit. The violence was minimal to make it much more suitable for children.
Strengths/Weaknesses
- One major strength in the story would be the cats’ wittiness and ability to think about a situation to make the most of what he has got. He cleverly gets on the good side of the king for the youngest son of the miller and soon enough makes the son become king himself.
- A weakness in the text would be the king’s gullibility. The fact that he believes everything that the cat says is a bit farfetched.
