YABBA
Young
Australians' Best Books Award
The YABBA (Young Australians' Best Books Award) is the Victorian popular choice award for Australian fiction. Like the other State popular awards, the YABBA aims to promote both a love of reading and a critical discernment among young readers. Entirely reader driven, it has two stages. Young readers lodge votes for the shortlists in the three categories (the books must have been published in the last 10 years), and then they vote from those lists for the eventual winners.
