AUREALIS BOOK AWARD
for science
fiction, fantasy and horror writing
The Aurealis Awards for Excellence in
Australian Speculative Fiction were established in 1995 by Chimaera
Publications, the publishers of Aurealis magazine, to recognise
the achievements of Australian science fiction, fantasy and horror writers.
There were originally four
divisions: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Young Adult. Within each
division there is a Best Novel Award and Best Short Story Award.
The Young Adult category covers all
three genres and in 2001 the
Children's division was added, with sections for Long and Short Fiction.
