MARGARET WILD
b. 1948

After years of being known as one of the top (but rather reclusive) writers for children in Australia, Margaret has recently emerged from her other hat as an editor and publisher with ABC Books.  She was artist-in-residence (on a May Gibbs Literature Trust Fellowship) at La Trobe University, Bendigo in 2001 and a featured speaker at that year's Children's Literature Conference.  Her much awarded books have a sensitivity and sympathy for the child's perspective of human experience.

For some activities and teaching ideas for several of Margaret's books, have a browse through the Australian Authors and Illustrators page from the NSW branch of the Australian School Library Association.
