AA MILNE 1892 - 1956 Biographies and studies of Milne: Alan Alexander Milne and Winnie the Pooh (as well as the real Christopher Robin) have suffered, as much as any author and character, from the well-meant, but not exactly academic, outpourings of their enthusiasts. Thus, critically analytical sites are few and far between but there are any number of fan sites. A good selection, from ISLMC's marvellous classroom resource site, are listed here. James Milne(no relation)'s The Page at Pooh Corner site is as good as any, and An Expotition through the Hundred Acre Wood has plenty of activities. Similarly, Disney's reworking of Milne's creation have led to many commercial presentations, often blurring the original stories, characters and EH Shepard illustrations with the "product for sale". just-pooh.com does this, a mix of the informative and the commercial. This biography and bibliography from Finland, and the detailed biographies of Milne, Christopher and Shepard from pooh-corner.com give detailed and sensitive information. The French ricochet-jeunes site has information about Milne and his stories as well as versions and adaptations (and quite a number of other historical authors) Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin and other Milne writings - texts:

The ubiquitous Google or Alta Vista build good results from your search. Try "A.A. Milne" as a name, as well as descriptors such as children's literature, author /s or history in various combinations along with christopher robin, winnie the pooh, hundred acre wood and so on. |
