ODO HIRSCH b. 1962 Odo Hirsch has a rare knack of creating stories that make the reader think. His characters face moral and ethical choices with all the enthusiasms and fallibilities of real life, yet the settings often lurk just outside the everyday. He draws on the depths and richness of several different traditions (particularly Eastern European and Jewish) to build those settings and delivers them with humour and sensitivity.
