DEBORAH ELLIS
b. 1960

Deborah Ellis is a strong and compassionate voice in modern young adult literature.  Drawing on personal experience, she has written one of the most moving depictions of the life of children in the social chaos of modern warfare - the Parvana books - and continued with unflinchingly honest storylines about young people in the harrowing world that adults give them.
