BAILLIE b. 1943 Allan Baillie (b. 1943) is a writer not afraid to deal with current and challenging social and political issues in his books. In particular, he examines the interplay of cultures in novels such as The China Coin and Songman, or picture books such as The Boss and Old Magic, and is very interested in Australia's relationship with the traditional and modern societies in its Asian corner of the world.
