Course and Subject Advice

For more information on your courses you can contact the Faculty Office, the relevant course coordinator, your subject or year-level coordinator or one of the Chemistry Lecturers.

First Year Students

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering offers a first year program (CONNECT) to assist students with the transition to tertiary study.

All students are encouraged to seek course advice before choosing your second year subjects, as these will impact upon the options available to you in third year. You should also consider undertaking a major in chemistry, as well as the fourth year honours program.

If you have a specific First-Year enquiry, please contact the First Year Coordinator, Dr David Wilson, or the First Year Laboratory Coordinator, Dr Helen O'Hara.

Second and Third Year Students

The subjects you choose for second year will significantly impact upon your study options in third year. It is a good idea to seek course advice in second semester for subjects to be taken in the following year. For general course advice, contact the relevant course coordinator or Faculty Office. For course or subject specific advice, you should seek specific advice from the course or subject coordinator.

Subject advice given to students will depend on whether students are studying 2nd/3rd year chemistry subjects for the first time in 2009, or have already partly completed 2nd/3rd year chemistry, or will not be commencing 2nd/3rd year chemistry until after 2009.
