Modified peptide solid phase synthesis

A survey of the literature we conducted a while ago revealed over 700 N-methyl modified peptides of varying complexity have been described. Many have interesting biological activity and yet represent challenging targets for synthesis. One group of these compounds we have done some preliminary work on are the Aureobasidins. Aureobasidin A is shown below. Our synthetic skills in this area have advanced to the point where we want to undertake the solid phase synthesis of some of these peptides.
