Honours Coursework
The coursework component requires students to take seven (7) units from the following coursework topics. Assessment will be on the best 6 courses.
Honours students may, with the approval of the Head of Department, substitute up to 2 fourth-year subjects offered by other Schools, such as biochemistry, mathematics or physics.
Honours Coursework Topics
Students are required to take seven coursework topics (each of six lectures or equivalent), adding up to a total of 42 lectures. The lecture topics for 2012 are currently (more detail will be provided in 2012):

NMR Spectroscopy (Prof. R. Brownlee)
Main Group Chemistry (Dr A. Richards)
Luminescence Spectroscopy for Analytical Chemistry (Prof. N. Barnett, Deakin)
ICP Mass Spectrometry (Prof. B. McGaw)
Kinetics (Dr. E. Robertson)
Seminars and colloquia
Attendance at the Chemistry Safety and Induction Course in February is compulsory.
All students are required to attend Departmental research seminars. Department seminars are held at 11am on Tuesdays, in Room 302 PS4 .
Assessment
Lecture units are assessed by examination or by a take-home project. The coursework counts for 30% of the total honours mark.
