Our research focuses on creating, understanding, and controlling at molecular-scale the surfaces and interfaces of functional materials to develop new technologies and material platforms for the next-generation devices.
We use advanced spectroscopic techniques based on synchrotron radiation, complemented by other surface science probes, to examine important surface and interface phenomena and physics essential to device operation. We also use advanced electrical characterisation probes to investigate exotic quantum transport properties often exhibited on the surface or at the interface of materials when they are subject to extremely low temperature and/or high magnetic field.
