Aims
The GHD/La Trobe University Civil Engineering Scholarship Program has been established to provide support for the completion of a tertiary qualification of future professional civil engineering staff. It is available to students undertaking the Bachelor of Civil Engineering course, or one of the Engineering double degree courses, at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.
Benefits
- up to approximately $10,000 per year/per student in vacation work experience for each year of the scholarship,
- financial support of $1,500 per year for each year of the scholarship,
- access to career mentoring advice from GHD Engineers, and
- opportunities to access GHD’s training and development programs.
Eligibility/Terms & Conditions
- Applicants must meet the following criteria
- be a full-time student in an undergraduate Civil Engineering course at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University,
- have a strong academic background,
- have completed their secondary education in Northern Victoria or Southern NSW,
- not hold any other Civil Engineering scholarship, and
- have a desire/preference to practise in rural areas.
There is one Scholarship available for either a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student. The Scholarship is available on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory academic performance and an annual interview. Students awarded a scholarship will automatically be considered for a scholarship and/or vacation work in subsequent years of their course without the need to re-apply.
Following the completion of their studies, successful scholarship students may be offered additional opportunities for work or entry into GHD's Graduate Program, dependant upon satisfactory performance and operational requirements.

Applicants are required to demonstrate why they are interested in the Scholarship and submit a resume and an academic transcript with their application.
The selection of the successful applicant will be made by a panel of GHD and La Trobe University staff and based on the above criteria.
