Aims

The Shire of Campaspe/La Trobe University Civil Engineering Scholarship Program has been established to provide support for the completion of a tertiary qualification of future professional civil engineering staff. It is available to students undertaking the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) course, or one of the Engineering double degree courses, at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University.

Benefits

  • financial support in the form of a $5,000 scholarship per year for the duration of the course,
  • fully-paid vacation work experience during each year of the course ($6000 per year, approximate),
  • access to career mentoring advice from Shire of Campaspe Engineers.
  • Eligibility

    Applicants must meet the following criteria

    • have completed secondary education in Central/Northern Victoria or southern NSW,
    • be a full-time student in an undergraduate Civil Engineering course at the Bendigo campus of La Trobe University,
    • have a strong academic background, and
    • not hold any other Civil Engineering scholarship.

    The successful applicant will be determined through an application and interview process. In 2007, there is one Scholarship available for a second or later-year student. The Scholarship is tenable for the normal length of the course, subject to satisfactory academic performance and an annual interview. The successful applicant is committed to the Shire of Campaspe for a period equivalent to the scholarship support period from completion of full-time studies.

    The selection of the successful applicant will be made by a panel of Shire of Campaspe and La Trobe University staff and based on the above criteria.
