Assisting primary school students with team work and communication skills

Volunteer Program
ROLE 1.  A volunteer is required to interact with a group of children (6-12 years old) through learning about passive play activities such as board games and lego construction, as well as learning about other cultures and how take turns at a school in the heidelberg area.

ROLE 2.  Volunteers are required to help 5 to 8 year olds to develop their conversational and communication skills, oral language between 9.00 - 11.00am on school days.

VOLUNTEER PROFILE: The volunteer needs to be reliable, patient and have good listening skills and have the ability to work with children

AGE RANGE: 18+

COMMITMENT: Monday to Friday 9.00am and 11.00am by arrangement.  You can negotiate at day to work around your university timetable commitments.

RECRUITMENT: Informal interview with Principal and Deputy Principal

TRAINING AND SUPPORT: No formal training as the volunteer will be working alongside a teacher who will also provide ongoing support to the volunteer

POLICE CHECK: No

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK: Yes
