As part of its dedication to teaching excellence La Trobe has made significant investments in its teaching initiatives and learning spaces.
Recent highlights include:
- the provision of $2.4 million by the Learning and Teaching Performance Fund to fund teaching and learning initiatives including curriculum renewal projects and online subject development.
- the $10 million redevelopment of the Borchardt Library at our Melbourne campus
- a new $10.9 million Shepparton campus building featuring a state-of-the-art nursing lab
- the construction of $1.9 million world-class dental training facility at our Bendigo campus, the first dental school to open in Victoria since 1904.

Health Sciences
Health Sciences has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its programs and graduates. The Faculty is renowned for providing a dynamic learning experience that produces distinguished graduates ready to make a difference in their communities.
Law and Management
Law and Management provides a supportive and flexible learning environment in which students study under internationally renowned lecturers. The Faculty is committed to helping its students achieve their best academically as well as develop practical experience. To accomplish this, the Faculty actively prepares its graduates for their transition into the workforce through a system of industry placements. This system gives students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in the work environment as well as build valuable industry contacts.
Science, Technology and Engineering
Science, Technology and Engineering has a proud history of partnering with business and a range of research organisations. These partnerships afford students the opportunity to undertake industry placements and graduate with work-ready skills and knowledge. The Faculty is at the forefront of research and innovation. Currently under construction, La Trobe’s Institute for Molecular Science and its Centre for Agribioscience will be multi-million dollar world-class facilities that will train Australia’s next generation of leading scientists.
