Tertiary Information Service (TIS)

TIS is a cooperative venture between Victorian universities and TAFEs, aimed at providing Victorian Year 12 students with a comprehensive annual program on tertiary study options. The program runs between March and August, in various centres. La Trobe attends all TIS events in regional and metropolitan Victoria. TIS events provide a relaxed setting in which your Year 12 students can get information and speak directly with university and TAFE representatives. TIS coordinators usually make contact through careers networks to negotiate the style and format of each event. Topics include:

  • Choosing a course
  • VTAC application procedures
  • Differences between university, TAFE and other providers
  • Finance and accommodation
  • Transition
  • Selection
  • Prerequisites and extra requirements

For dates and coordinating institutions, visit the TIS website. For information on participating in the program, contact the TIS coordinator in your region.
