Multiple Choice Answer Sheet

Campus Graphics supplies the General Purpose Answer Sheets – L100 (GPAS) for use in student examinations and tests. The GPAS is used for multiple choice questions and can cater for up to 100 questions with 5 possible responses (A – E).

Campus Graphics also supplies the service of scanning the answer sheets. YouMark software (which was written by CaTS) is used to facilitate the marking and analysis of the results.

Procedures

Purchase Sheets

Check with your Faculty Office or Student Services as they may have purchased sheets in bulk and may have some in storage. If you would like to purchase sheets, they are only supplied in packets of 100. The purchase price includes both the blank sheets as well as scanning of completed sheets. Cost recovery is through a journal to the nominated cost centre/fund supplied.

GPAS sheets can only be ordered online by completing the Purchase exam sheets form.

Sheets can either be picked up or delivered.

Request Exam Scanning

The cost of scanning answer sheets has been included in the initial purchase price.

Requests to scan answer sheets must be done online using the Request exam scanning form.

You will receive an email response to your request indicating that sheets to be scanned are to be delivered to Campus Graphics (near Carpark 6). Sheets must be dropped off in person for security reasons*.

Please place sheets in an envelope/box clearly labelled with the following information:

  • Scan request number
  • Date of drop off
  • Date results required by (allow at least 2 days)
  • Unit code of subject
  • Contact name
  • Contact number
  • Department/school
  • Number of sheets to be scanned

The Master sheet (with correct answers) must be clearly labelled and included as the first sheet in the bundle. Sheets should be in a neat pile all facing the same direction ready to be scanned (otherwise they will be returned to you for sorting before scanning can proceed).

You may want to consider leaving a USB stick with Campus Graphics when you drop off the sheets to be scanned. Results are loaded onto USB sticks ready for analysis.

You will receive an email indicating when the scan is completed and results are ready to be picked up.

Results must be picked up in person^. Please bring your staff card as identification and a signature will be required when collecting sheets and results.

Collecting Results

If you did not leave a USB stick when you first dropped off the sheets for scanning, please bring one along when collecting results^. Campus Graphics will load the output file (dlm file), a copy of YouMark software and an information sheet to assist you with the “checking” process onto the USB.

The “checking” process involves attending to any anomalies picked up by the scanner. Common examples are two responses for one question, no response for a question or an incomplete student number.

Please take care to retain the order of the scanned sheets after they are collected as this is the order required to check the sheets. If the sheets are dropped and require rescanning, this will incur an additional charge.

Once you have checked the sheets on your computer using YouMark software, an Excel spreadsheet of results and statistics will be generated.

* Campus Graphics will only accept sheets via Internal Mail from staff located at campuses other than Bundoora but will not be responsible for any sheets lost by this delivery method.
^ Campus Graphics will email results to staff located at campuses other than Bundoora.
