What to do if the printer isn’t working?

Contact Café Digital, ext: 3220 to report the problem. Quote the asset number of the machine and provide a description of the fault or error. The asset number is located on the machine.

How do I send my document to another printer if the default printer is not working?

From the Print dialogue box click on the Printer Name drop-down menu and select another printer name from the list (do not select Microsoft Office Document Image Writer). All printers available from the list are located within Café Digital or the local lab. If none of the available printers are working, then contact Café Digital, ext: 3220.

How do I print in colour?

There are several Café Digital devices on the Bundoora campus that print both colour and black & white. These devices will have two print drivers, one for black & white and the other for colour; select the colour driver for you printing requirements.

What if I send my document to the colour printer?

If you select the colour printer then you will be charged at the colour printing rate.

How do I register to print or photocopy?

Go to an attended or unattended registration station. Click on this link to find your nearest registration point or go to Café Digital, Agora, level 2. Registration takes approximately 1 minute to complete.

How do I add money to print or photocopy?

There are three (3) ways to reload money onto your Transact La Trobe account:

    • Reload stations – click on this link to find your closet reload station.
    • EFTPOS – Available only in the Bundoora Library.
    • Reload online – VISA & MasterCard only

What happens to my print job if I do not have enough money on my Transact La Trobe account?

If you do not have enough money on your Transact La Trobe account your document will not print. Add more money to your Transact La Trobe account and press the print button again.

When I press print nothing prints out at the printer, why isn’t my job printing?

Do not keep pressing the print button, do the following:

  1. 1. Make sure that you have enough funds on your Transact La Trobe account, click the appropriate link to check your balance: Student account / Staff - personal account
  2. 2. Check the printer is on and there is no error message e.g. printer jam, printer out of paper.

If you have checked all the above then report it to Café Digital, ext: 3220.

I made a mistake and I didn’t want the prints, can I get a refund?

Transact La Trobe accounts will not be refunded for accidental printing. You may cancel your print job however you will still be charged for the job regardless of it printing or not. You should take care before you print a document. Confirm that you want to print it or not.
