Sport policy

Sport policy impacts upon the development and management of Australian sport and has become an important aspect of government intervention, demonstrated with funding and support for elite and community sport development. Recently La Trobe Sport scholars established the Centre for Sport and Social Impact (CSSI), which secured a $500,000 tender for the Evaluation Program for Creating Healthy Sporting Environments. The project is a 2.5 year $2 million project funded by Vic Health and delivered by Leisure Networks involving 100 sports clubs across 5 local government areas in the wider Geelong region.
