Major research strength includes accounting, management, marketing, human resource management, management information systems, strategic management, organisational behaviour, tourism marketing, economics and finance, corporate finance, risk management, investment and portfolio management, business and management economics, international finance, international trade, industrial economics, macroeconomics, resource and environmental economics, and history of economic thought.
The School of Business also has links to various research centres including the Public Sector Governance and Accountability Research Centre and Business Systems and Knowledge Modelling Lab.
