Research

La Trobe Business School is an innovative research hub that focuses on delivering research outcomes that have significant impact on the community. While many of our staff conduct individual research in their areas of specialisation to advance knowledge in their fields, the School actively promotes cross disciplinary research that delivers effective outcomes for the private, public and non profit sectors.

Our business is improving your business

The School conducts research across a wide range of discipline areas and is recognised as a world leader in several areas by the government in its recent Excellence in Research Australia assessment.

Strong School success in ERA rankings

La Trobe ranked joint third in Victoria through its research in Accounting, Economics and Law and Legal Studies (Cluster 4, field  15, Cluster 4, field  14 and Cluster 2, field 18 respectively), with a joint second ranking in Commerce, Management, Tourism and Services (Cluster 4, field 15).

We performed particularly strongly in Tourism research, being ranked 'above world standard' in this field. La Trobe is the only university in Victoria and one of only four across the nation to receive such a high ranking for Tourism research.
