School of BusinessQuality Assurance of UnitsAccording to the results of the Quality Assurance surveys conducted at the end of Semester 1 and Semester 2 2007, students in the School of Business are satisfied with the quality of the subjects most or all of the time. Student responses to the statement “Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of this unit” are ranked on a scale of 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). Surveys are conducted in the last two weeks of each semester and each subject is surveyed at least every two years. Due to the customisation of surveys, results for the School of Business cannot generally be compared to the results from other schools.
This means that a quarter of our students were satisfied with our subjects all of the time, and over two-thirds were satisfied most or all of the time. While some subjects rate better than others, satisfaction is fairly even across the School. The School teaches upon five Victorian campuses where mean satisfaction scores were as follows:
The School’s undergraduate programs are also taught through three external partners, where student satisfaction with subjects was as follows:
Most of the major disciplines taught in the School (accounting, economics, finance and management) scored consistently between 3.68 and 3.78. Satisfaction with the School’s Masters coursework programs (the MFA, MIBS, MPA and the MAFM) was also strong at 4.03. One thirds of the students were satisfied all of the time and three quarters of the students were satisfied all or most of the time, while only 6% recorded that they were satisfied a little of the time or never.
