After gaining his PhD from the University of Sydney in 1991, Dr Zhang worked for three years as a research associate at the China Centre of the University of Sydney. In 1994 he came to La Trobe University where he has taught since.
Li's research and teaching interests are in Asian-Australian trade issues, international and comparative economics, e-commerce in Asia Pacific, online education and training strategies, and Chinese studies. He has published over 30 papers and 5 books in these areas.
