New Master of Management courses
The La Trobe Business School will be launching a suite of new Masters of Management programs in 2013. This launch comes as employers are beginning to see postgraduate degrees as a new entry-level qualification for new recruits. To be relevant to the needs of the current business climate, these new programs are designed to meet the demand for managers with the capacity to lead organisational expansion and change, to deal with workplace flexibility, to manage human, technological and other resources, to evaluate new initiatives and build business plans to support new activities.
The programs launching in 2013:
- Master of Management
- Master of Management (Human Resource Management)
- Master of Management (Entrepreneurship and Innovation)
CBD Delivery
Starting in February 2013, these masters programs will be taught that University’s brand new City Campus at 360 Collins St. The program is scheduled to be completed in 18 months, if studied full-time. However, the convenient location of the new campus will allow students to study part-time, whilst working in the central business district.
Entry without a business degree
From 2014, the program will even be open to students without previous degrees in business. This will be an attractive option for Arts and Science graduates wanting to add high-level business expertise to their resumes. These students will be brought up-to-date through a foundation semester that covers the basics of contemporary business practice. This includes introductions to management, marketing, accounting, economics and statistics. Students without a business background will typically finish the program in two years of full-time studies.
Study Abroad
La Trobe University offers one of Australia’s best study abroad and exchange programmes, with 140 partner universities in 35+ countries. Masters students will be eligible for a travel grant of up-to $7,000, if they choose to study a semester at a partner university. Students that want to add an international experience to their degree, but cannot commit to spending six months overseas, can choose to go on one of the regular international study tours to places like Vietnam, France or China. All students that are accepted into an international experience will receive a travel grant from the university.
