Department of Accounting
For over 35 years, La Trobe University has been offering world-class accounting programs. The Department has more than 40 academic staff engaged in teaching and research across financial accounting, management and public sector accounting, auditing and assurance services, taxation and social, ethical, environmental and forensic accounting.
The Department offers several Bachelor degrees, a number of double degrees, and double majors as well as minors. Our programs are characterised by business, industry, professional, and social relevance. We are committed to embedding sustainability and environmental issues into core accounting curriculum.
With strong connections to professional bodies, the Department’s Advisory Board comprises senior staff from Deloitte, PwC, Australia Post, ANZ Bank and Hayes Knight Melbourne.
Research
The Department of Accounting contributes extensively to research within La Trobe. Research in the Department of Accounting has strengths in the areas of sustainability, human rights, public accounting, forensics and corporate governance.
