Emergency Plan

Utility Failure

In the even of a major utility failure occurring during regular working hours, immediately notify Security on Ext 2222 or telephone 9479 2222 or freecall 1 800 800 613.

Follow the standard evacuation procedures if a building emergency exists. Always observe the above procedures whenever the following utility emergencies arise:

Electrical/Light Failure

At present, emergency lighting should provide sufficient illumination in corridors and stairs for safe exiting.

Lift Failure

If you are trapped in the lifts, use the emergency phone to call for assistance.

Plumbing / Flooding

Cease using all electrical equipment. If necessary, vacate the area. Call University Security on Ext 2222 or telephone 9479 2222 or freecall 1 800 800 613.

Serious Gas Leak

Cease all operations. Do not switch on lights, cell phones, radios or any electrical equipment. Remember, electrical arcing can trigger an explosion. Call Security on Ext 2222 or telephone 9479 2222 or freecall 1 800 800 613 from a phone away from the gas leak.

Ventilation Problem

If smoke odours come from the ventilation system, immediately notify University Security on Ext 2222 or telephone 9479 2222 or freecall 1 800 800 613. If necessary, cease all operations and vacate the area.
