Tournament of Minds

La Trobe University recently hosted the State finals of the Tournament of Minds for gifted and enthusiastic students from primary and secondary schools from throughout Victoria. The event was held on the main Melbourne campus at Bundoora.

The University is the major sponsor of the Tournament. It also hosted the metropolitan northern regional finals in the lead up to the State titles and has previously hosted the Australian finals.

The annual competition provides a stimulating learning experience in a range of disciplines, encourages co-operation, creative problem-solving and team-building. Teams of seven students from mixed year levels solve challenging, open-ended problems in the following categories: language literature, maths engineering, or social sciences.
