Young diplomats visit Beechworth

La Trobe at Beechworth played host to 25 graduate trainees from the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) during a training tour of north-east Victoria.

The young diplomats were touring the area as part of a program to familiarise themselves with issues affecting regional businesses involved in export.

A similar group was booked to stay at La Trobe at Beechworth in January 2003 - but serious bushfires forced cancellation of the visit.

'The tour is an annual event and we are hopeful that their stay on our campus will become a regular one,' said Beechworth campus conference manager, Ms Sharon Wilson.
