Issue: January/February 2004PeopleElection to Academy of the HumanitiesJoint winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine, Professor Rolf Zinkernagel, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Science (honoris causa) by La Trobe University in recognition of his contribution to immunology. Two members of La Trobe University academic staff are among the 25 Fellows recently elected to the Australian Academy of the Humanities. They are Professor Richard Freadman who holds the Chair in English, and Professor Tim Murray, Foundation Head of Historical and European Studies.
